Sailfish

Sailfish are a very well-known species of fish (you've probably heard of them, and maybe even seen one mounted) because of their popularity among sport fishermen. They are world- renowned for the challenge they provide.

Tuna

Tuna are incredible fish. They're big – weighing up to 700 kilos. And they're fast – accelerating faster than a sports car. They can dive 250 metres in less than a minute. They are the central part of the diet of millions of people (and cats!).

Kingfish

Kingfish or Yellowtail are premiere gamefish and most world record fish were landed here. Kingfish are a classic, elongated pelagic shape with a large caudal fin. They are typically a dark green with a white belly and a yellow stripe.

Wahoo are some of the toughest pelagic predators on the face of the planet—they can streak through the water upwards of 60-mph, they have teeth as sharp as razors, and they fight like a wounded rhino.

Swordfish

Swordfish live throughout much of the world's oceans. They are found in the Indian, Atlantic, Pacific Oceans. They seem to prefer warmer waters, but are found at a variety of temperatures. They can be found at varying depths in the ocean.

Mahi-Mahi

One of the fastest swimming fish in the sea, Mahi-Mahi prefer the warmer tropical and subtropical waters of the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, and Gulf Coast of Florida. Their spawning season lasts from late spring to early summer.

Grouper

Groupers are widely distributed in warm seas and are often dully coloured in greens or browns, but a number are brighter, more boldly patterned fishes. Some, such as the Nassau grouper, are noted for their ability to change from one to any of a number of other colour patterns. Also, in many species, individuals inhabiting deeper waters are much redder than those living near shore.

Snappers are found, often in abundance, throughout the tropics. Active, schooling fishes with elongated bodies, large mouths, sharp canine teeth, and blunt or forked tails, snappers are usually rather large, many attaining a length of 60–90 centimetres (2–3 feet). Snapper is identified as a highly prized table fish. This fish take a variety of different baits and lures.

There is a saying that all the cod caught are hooked by a third of anglers fishing, and this is because casting is such an important element of cod fishing.
